Addiction casts shadows over all family members that dominate the way they think, feel and perceive themselves and interact with others throughout a lifetime. Children raised in such an environment can develop low self-esteem, distrust, attention seeking behaviors, cynicism, intolerance and hopelessness. However, with proper guidance, the dysfunctional family can be restored to optimum health and healing for all family members.
Evelyn Leite, has 35 years of experience in the mental health and addiction fields. A professional counselor and author, Evelyn has written a manual to help struggling families find their way back to healthy, loving relationships. In her book, A Fix for the Family Rift Caused by Addiction, Evelyn explains how the consequences of addictive behaviors can be addressed and treated. Her compassionate approach to and understanding of the dynamics of relationships under these difficult circumstances provides a path out of the dark tunnel of addiction and points victims to the light of a healthy, fulfilling life.
