We boomers came of age during the sixties when our country seemed torn apart. Divisive rhetoric, social unrest and violent protests were fueled by issues surrounding the Vietnam War and the fight for civil rights. And, somehow, we now find ourselves and our society dealing with similarly contentious and divisive issues. In fact, it seems that our political divisions might, once again, serve to tear our country apart.
Yet thankfully, today’s guest brings an approach to working together and understanding one another’s views that is both doable and optimistic. Diana Mclain Smith has spent over 35+ years helping organizations transform intergroup conflict into a powerful force for change. From Fortune 500 companies to cutting edge nonprofits, Diana has created positive change through her groundbreaking approach she terms, “Leading Through Relationships.” This approach has now been used by thousands of teams and organizations around the world. Diana is also the author of three books and coauthor of another and has served as an advisor to the Harvard Negotiation Project and the Rebuild Congress Initiative.
She joins us to share all about her newly released, timely and important new book, Remaking the Space Between Us. If you care about the election and the future of our country, you won’t want to miss this thought-provoking discussion.
