Dr Harris Blk. Lives Matter: Mayor Brand COVID-19 Committee Excludes Af. Am.

Although Black people are suffering the highest percentage of COVID-19 deaths in the country the Mayor of Fresno is among the growing number of people who don't care.  Once again the powers that be in the City of Fresno blatantly leave out African-Americans in decision making that especially affects them.  The latest is the COVID-19 committee formed, by Fresno Mayor Lee Brand, to decide when and how the city will reopen.  The mayor has excluded grassroots community leaders from marginalized groups from being a part of this committee.  It was not until a local Black woman, on social media, exposed that there was no black respresentation on this committee that others were supposedly added.  Mayor Lee Brand intentionally and willfully disregarded and disrespected the African American community one more time.  The committee also lacks those who have knowledge of health and other risk factors that must be considered when the city is reopened.  This is the pattern of systemic and institutionalized racism fueled by capitalism, and white privelge.  Join the discussion about raising awareness of the importance of having individuals/groups on this, and other committees, that lack Af. American presence and inclusiveness at the "table".
