Dr. Harris Black Lives Matter Show Spring Board Summer Reading Program

Dear Parent/Caregiver,
We are writing with a great opportunity: the Fresno Unified Office of African-American Academic Acceleration is proud to partner with Springboard Collaborative to offer our 2nd annual summer reading program. You are invited to participate! Springboard helps students grow as readers, fighting the summer slide. Here are some details of our Springboard program:
Reading
Over 3 weeks, scholars attend half day instruction in small classes. They read together as a class, in small groups, and independently. Teachers lead weekly workshops to help YOU learn strategies to teach reading at home. We know that you are the expert on your child’s progress and we are confident that your home is an excellent classroom. Scholars also get 11 new books to read and re-read that are theirs to keep.
Awards
Families who attend all three of the weekly workshops can earn extra awards. Springboard sets a growth goal for every child. Students who reach their goal will receive a backpack full of school supplies. Every family who attends each workshop and helps their child exceed their goal will also receive a tablet!
