Over the past eight years, Riley Callen has had three separate craniotomies to remove two brainstem-based cavernous malformations (vascular tumors). Through her experiences, she has developed a passion for raising awareness in support of research to find better treatment options for cavernous malformations and non-cancerous brain tumors. Riley is a junior at Burr and Burton Academy and although busy with school and sports, it is important to her to continue to raise awareness. Riley started Be Brave For Life in 2015 after the removal of her second benign brain tumor. Since 2015, the nonprofit organization has raised over $500,000 through an annual hike-a-thon and other fundraising efforts
