Maryam Morrison, Founder, Publisher, and Editor-in-Chief of The Eden Magazine, Altruist, and Animal activist, was born and raised in Tehran, Iran.

Maryam has lived life as Military wife and together with her husband, they moved across the globe and the USA from New York to Colorado, to San Diego and settled in Savannah, Georgia, where Matthew retired after 20 years of service. Once in Georgia,  Maryam followed her lifelong passion for working with animals. Her focus became rescuing, saving, and nursing them back to health. Together with Matthew her husband, they rescued over 300 cats and dogs that had been badly abused became a Pet Trainer. She trained dogs in simple obedience, to be Therapy Dogs, Search and Rescue Dogs, and even Cadaver Dogs. Her main focus was to work with dogs that had behavioral issues so as to avoid the fate of having them end up in shelters.

The Eden Magazine was officially born in January 2010. Today it boasts over one million readers from around the world. The goal of the magazine has always been to help people find a better way to live, and to focus spreading compassion to all sentient beings living in a healing and peaceful world.

In 2017 Maryam created Eden Achievement Awards to honor individuals who have contributed greatly in giving back through their non-profit organizations and charities. She wanted to give back to people who really make a difference, and who stand by their conviction to help others whether through business, medicine, healing, animal welfare, or the arts.
