Okay, so there's not really a talking donkey with comically long ears in the Bible, but maybe the fictional story of Nestor (a sort of biblical cousin to the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) has something truly important to tell us about the table-turning ways of God. So this week in our Advent series looking at bits of pop culture that come to mind in the Christmas season, pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve explore this 1977 stop-action animated story and look at how very much the story, not only of Jesus' birth, but of all the Scriptures, is of a God who deliberately chooses to lift up the lowly, stand with the marginalized, and announce blessing on the poor, the broken-hearted, and the left-behind ones. Maybe even though Nestor is a fictional donkey, he can tell us a great deal about the God who comes to us in Jesus, the same God about whom Mary sings as the One who lifts up the lowly, feeds the hungry with good things, and scatters the proud. Join us for this week's episode of Crazy Faith Talk for the next nugget of Advent pop culture!
