A Celebration of Veterans Day, with IFA VetFran Chairman, Ralph Yarusso.

    in Business

This is a very special Edition of Franchise Today, in celebration of Veterans Day, coming up Saturday November 11th 2023, at 11AM.  Celebrations and parades will be kicking off across America in honor of all those who have served in our Nation ‘s Armed Forces.  To help us better understand the close ties and connections between veterans and franchising, we are joined today by my good friend and IFA VetFran Chairman, Ralph Yarusso.
Ralph is the Chairman of IFA’s VetFran Committee.  His franchise career spans almost 40 years of experience, holding executive-level positions with multiple brands.  But all of that came after first spending many years as a very successful multi-unit franchisee, with as many as 15 locations under his ownership in multiple cities.  Ralph is a United States Air Force Veteran, a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) and a Certified Franchise Consultant (CFC).
No matter the role, zee or zor, Ralph Yarusso is passionate about helping others succeed in franchising and has always been happy to lend a hand to mentor others. He currently serves as Chairman of the VetFran committee for the IFA and here he is to tell us all about it.

Radio Show #516: Bridging the gap from academia to the real world

    in Business

Special Guest: Alex Eade: Marketing Manager at Footprint Digital
Lifelong learning and keeping education at the core of everything we do is paramount to the team at Footprint Digital. Our industry, digital marketing, has often been seen as smoke and mirrors, with clients confused about what agencies are actually doing for them, and agencies using this confusion to their advantage. Footprint Digital was set up to be the antithesis to this, demystifying and humanising marketing to help clients make more confident decisions. As part of this attempt to spread information rather than gatekeep, we began lecturing to university students in 2015 and soon realised that there was a gap between the theory students learnt, and the practical understanding they’d need for a successful start to their career. We set up the Footprint Academy to help them with the skills they’d need in the real world.
Alex Eade is the Marketing Manager at Footprint Digital, and after a master degree in Business Management, in 2016 she began her digital marketing career by joining the Footprint Academy. Since then she has managed content teams, developed new digital marketing products, worked in-house in branding, email marketing and CRM for a global restaurant group, and returned to Footprint Digital in 2020 where she set up an online course to complement the Footprint Academy.’
Join us as we discuss bridging the gap from academia to the real world.

Close Up Radio to Highlight Robert Douglas of Legacy Leadership

    in Management

TUCSON, AZ - Robert Douglas has formed a coaching business, and it is a coaching business unlike any other. While he focuses on leadership, he does it in a way that blurs the lines between business consultant and life/transformational coach—by helping people make new and better choices and identify the leader they were meant to be (as opposed to the position they may have been assigned.) He molds real champions.
Robert is getting ready to retire from a long career in the US Army that has involved leadership roles. He says that the way they do things in The US Military Service is not always a best-case scenario—assigning leadership titles based on education or length of deployment. People in The Service must implicitly trust their leaders when a true leader should be earning the trust of their teams.
“I believe good leadership is more essential today than at any other time in history; a time  when influencers are seemingly everywhere thanks to regular and social media. We need to grasp the responsibilities that come with influence and leadership.”
Robert has put some of his insights into a book titled Leaders Make Time: Leadership Philosophy Made Simple. He will discuss this book in his November radio interview, including a favorite chapter called Cowards Always Say Yes, which addresses how to set healthy limits, say no with grace, and ensure that we are agreeing to do is something we really can do.
For further information and resources please visit Robert’s Website: https://www.leadersmaketime.com/
