The Bible says in  Ezekiel 16:49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 

So before Sodom and Gomorrah fell they were in abundant prosperity and blessings!  In fact, they had so much food that they had free time on their hands and that led to pride. Then in their haughtiness they committed the detestable abomination of homosexuality before God!!!
