There is a big difference between substance use and abuse. However where do we draw the line? Why is it the some individuals can drink socially yet others may have relational issues, health problems, financial problems and legal problems. It appears that we live in a society where we glamorize drinking and drug use. With the legalization of Marijuana in many states many now believe that they have a legal right to get high. I have heard it been said that many parents have an attitude that I would rather for my child to use at home than to do it in the streets. Many use drugs to celebrate, socialize, grieve, and self medicate. Today's episode will explore the difference between use and abuse. It will provide insight into the risk of addiction and addictive behaviors. It will address the lies that individuals tell the self and others. It will also provide information regarding the different treatment modalities. Join Jeanette Abney and Special Guest Arthur Magilevski of Valley Recovery Center as we provide the listeners with information, resources, and support to guide individuals if they want help with becoming sober as we explore, "The High Is A Lie."
