Good Deeds presents Dr. Jen Alves, DPT, author of the Ten Commandments for Loving Yourself, and co-producer of a RI state-wide TV show, Lessons of Love, believes that wellness begins with loving yourself. She began her mission to help other women obtain a healthy self-image after making many poor lifestyle and relationship decisions because of low self-esteem. "A poor self-image can lead to poor decisions," she says. The Ten Commandments for Loving Yourself helped her to reclaim self respect, wipe her slate clean and begin her live anew. She put these Ten Commandments into a book and poster that she uses to help share her messages. She developed a curriculum and taught women in a minimum security prison for several years "The Ten Commandments for Loving Yourself should be a required course for all grades", an inmate said. Through science, with discussions on DNA, or spiritual guidance, Dr. Alves tailors her message to her audience. "My specialty is to help my listener walk away feeling special no matter their age, race, gender, religion or income bracket." . She believes everyone deserves to love their life and find true love, but it begins with loving yourself. Dr. Jen Alves, DPT hold a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and a BA in Communications and a BS in Human Development and Family Relations.
