Iran's Rouhani not flattered by verbal duel with Trump

It took 13 years for Iran to complete a nuclear deal with the U.S. and the 5 central members of UN Security council.  Iran has been steadfast in complying with the nuclear program and the U.S. withdrew from the deal a year ago which impeded more potential relations with this country.  

What is the real aim of the United States as it pressures Iran? The question has become more urgent as the U.S. confirms an aircraft carrier has conducted exercises in the Arabian Sea. The U.S. has cited Iranian threats against U.S. interests, though it has not shared its intelligence, and some U.S. allies have cast doubt on it. The rising tensions follow the Trump administration's withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal a year ago and an escalation of sanctions. Iran recently said it would stop complying with parts of that deal.  A former National Security Advisor, Doug Olivant from the U.S. says  "Iran sponsors small-level terrorist groups that continually harass our ships in the Gulf. They're not a friend of the United States."  Rouhani called the U.S. poison and especially poisonous under Trump.

Jon uses the argument that Iran does not have any good intentions because of radical Islam.  Jane tries to take a diplomatic approach that even though tensions are high between the U.S. and Iran, the least resistant diplomatic course should be used to diffuse the situation.  Wade has a mixed view of what the region can accomplish.
