Our guest today is Elaine Hoem. She has been a psychotherapist in Carson City, Nevada, and at Lake Tahoe. This work became an art form for her as she studied and lived the ways of Transpersonal Psychology and taught others to delve deeper into their spiritual selves. She is a meditation instructor, retreat leader and transformational coach who guides others toward ways to open their lives to enhanced possibilities and expansive joy.
Elaine was interested in spiritual ways at an early age. She loved the rituals, Gregorian Chants, and prayers to Mother Mary in the Catholic Church. She left the church long ago, but continued to develop rituals to unite us with the sacred. Her background initially was that of a Music Educator. It was one of the 3 options young women had in the 50s. Teach, nurse, or going to college to get an Mrs degree. She always rebelled against these limitations. One year of teaching music in an elementary school was enough for her. She became a Music Therapist, a new field where there was limited training at the time. She got to use music, with people of all ages and severe intellectual and physical limitations in a large institution in Minnesota. It was here that she found her path, her passion, her life’s work.
Currently lives in Reno, Nevada, and continues her own spiritual practices while encouraging others to find and live from their deepest truths. Her Soul Dance ways are inspired by the deep healing she knows is possible through psychotherapeutic work and the uplifting practices of living from our spiritual center. Her main focus in life is to nurture transformations of herself and others so that all of us may live from our highest truths and thus benefit our loved ones and our communities.
