Change of Plans~

A common experience in our modern society is that plans change. Something comes up that is outside of our plans for the day and we have to adapt to the new conditions. Sometimes this is easy, and sometimes it's a pain in the tush. Either way, we must rethink how we process the demands of the day, and (in the vernacular) 'go with the flow'.

This is less easy, and often impossible, when the issue involves our spiritual lives, and how we view salvation and eternal life. For the most part Christians feel that they live a normal life. And included in that normal life is occasionally being able to 'testify to the truth' of what they know about the idea of 'being saved'. If you add to that the concept that what Christians have been taught about how end time prophecy works having something change in either area can really mess with their minds.

Two examples: (1) when they realize that what Paul taught was not what Jesus taught about salvation, and (2) when they are told that their certain view of end time prophecy no longer fits the reality of what they see occuring in the world. These two issues in particular are devastating to the 'plan' that has been layed out for them by their church, their pastors and teacher, and the 'Old Time Religion' with which they grew up. It makes them VERY uncomfortable in the least.

So what are they to do? Well in this there are two options. The first is that they will reject out of hand any attempt to change their minds about any of this; that what they have is what they want to believe, and that is enough for them. the second is for a moment laying asied what they now believe to be true, and look at something new to them with an open heart and mind, and judge for themselves whether what they see is true, or not. 

You must Know the Truth in order to be in the Kingdom of God, a truth that will be different than you now know.
