When is comes to church and money many individuals become turned off as soon as the see the gold plate of hear the word money.. Many individuals have a misunderstanding about what the church does with the money. And other have had bad experiences. Years ago the church was a place to go when one was in need. However, others have been disappointed or perhaps hold grudges which causes them to withhold their money. I can recall as a child listening to adults argue in the church about money as my mother entered a meeting uninvited trying to hear a Word from the Lord. That memory stayed with me for years.
All of todays churches are really not just about passing the plate. I say this because I can only spek for the churches that I have attended in over the past 25 years. I am aware that there are also some church leaders that consider offering like a Sunday morning stickup. There are also some religious leaders that believe that tithing is not mandatory for Christians.I have also witnessed pastors being the first person to put the money in the plate.
What does Stewardship means to you? Why do some members appear to be more blessed than others? Do you give your money to the church before you pay your bills? These are just a few questions that individuals have raised.
