Equally Yoked

What does it mean to be equally yoked? Sounds like a simple question yet ones response may vary. This can make the dating process complicated. If you grew up in church you may have likely heard of being equally yoked as it is referenced to relationships. It may also be used as a guidance as to how to select a mate or life partner. 

2 Corinthians 6:14 says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers." So when one goes from dating to marriage it is often then that many find that they may be in trouble. It is not easy to say no to a relationship that is less than God's intention. I can recall when a young couple would say that they were in love and a senior would advise otherwise. If this is God's perfect plan then why are so many believers missing the mark?
