Cassandra has a passion in enhancing the quality of life of the aging population as well as their caregivers. As an undergraduate student she completed her internship at the Area Agency on Aging. She absolutely enjoyed helping seniors in the community. After much research and study she learned about gerontology. Cassandra graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2004 earning several national recognitions such as National Dean’s List and All American Collegiate Scholar. She immediately started graduate school. She graduated in 2006 with a Master of Arts in Gerontology completing a thesis on “How Does Place of Residence Affect Depression Among Seniors”.
After graduate school she worked mostly in long term care in management. Throughout her career in long term care she maintained zero deficiencies and was recognized as VIP Woman of the Year in 2010-2011 by the National Association of Professional Women. Her career experience includes hospice, geriatric psychiatry, and long term acute care hospital.
Cassandra is very active volunteering with non-profit organizations. She currently is on the Advisory Committee of Alzheimer’s Cure Foundation. She has volunteered with hospice companies providing community education as well as offering companionship to hospice patients. She is currently serving on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging for the state of Arkansas.
Cassandra also owns and operates a wellness consulting business helping individuals on their path to healthy living. The business also develops senior wellness programs for senior living providers.
