EPISODE 263 "IT TAKES A VILLAGE"

You ever want to beat someone else kids ass? I mean really, you saw a CHILD acting so outrageous that you literally wanted to WHIP THEM, with a belt, your had...anything! But when you saw the CHILD acting this way, and you wanted to correct them, you didn't do it, even though they was CLEARLY acting out of line. You know why you didn't? Because it wasn't YOUR CHILD. And that ladies and gentleman, is a PROBLEM in itself! Stay with me people, because I'm serious about what I'm going to say next. We as a people are failing to give our kids a fair shot. Our kids are joining gangs, they are disrespecting adults and authority figures, and we fuel those flames by having one of the most destructive stances ever thought up: NOBODY BETTER NOT CHECK MY CHILD BUT ME. This stance is the absolute DUMBEST SHIT I EVER HEARD! NO ONE can be around their kids 24/7. We ship them to schools, events, even outside in the neighborhood and our eyes are not with them. We HOPE and EXPECT them to act right cause we like too feel we raised them well (some of us) but what if they decide not to, and another adult is around. At this point, if that adult is a responsible, non abusive rational individual, you would think they should and would interject on bad behavior for the absent parent. WELL YOU WOULD BE WRONG. A study shows that more then ever OTHER ADULTS ARE LESS LIKELY TO CORRECT A CHILD THAT ISN'T THEIR OWN BEHAVIOR EVEN IF THEY SEE THAT IT'S HARMFUL TO THEM OR OTHERS AROUND THEM. Why? Cause people don't want to deal with THAT parent who feels they kid never does anything wrong, or felt that other adult overstepped their bounds. BUT THIS HAS GOT TO STOP! Questions:

1) WOULD YOU LET A STRANGER CHECK YOUR KID IN YOUR ABSENCE, MAYBE EVEN PHYSICALLY DISCIPLINE THEM?

2) DO YOU EVER CHECK OTHER PEOPLE KIDS?

3) DO YOU THINK IT WOULD HELP US AS A PEOPLE IF ANY RATIONAL ADULT BE ALLOWED TO DISCIPLINE ANY KID?
