The CIVIL RIGHTS movement could NEVER happen in this day and time. Not because if left unchecked the powers that be wouldn't have kept things how they were, but because this generation of black people just don't give a damn enough to make it happen. It's astounding just how apathetic some black people are about politics, especially voting. The nomination and election of OBAMA was a shot of adrenaline for us, like a quick revival in politics, but it wasn't actually a political surgery of sorts to permanently repair the apathetic black voter. With the upcoming elections in NOVEMBER, I see more and more signs that things need to be ramped up, that the establishment is fighting hard to REVERSE the effects that OBAMA's win had on us. Well people, they are WINNING! The emergence of the TEA PARTY, the new found power of the likes of GLEN BECK, and the ass whipping that the DEMOCRATS are gonna take next month that will be blamed on OBAMA, it seems like the exact OPPOSITE effect came out of his election. Instead of us black people being more into politics since one of "US" is in the white house, we still seem to care more about HOUSEWIVES of ATLANTA then who our Congressman is! Why do you think Black people are SO politically apathetic? Do you vote? If your answer is NO then why the hell not? And I don't wanna hear your BS about "it don't matter cause whoever in there gonna do whatever blah...blah..." Why don't we seem to CARE about our LOCAL and STATE government as much as we should? Do you think we take for granite the sacrifice and struggle others made for us to even have the chance to vote and be in politics? Will you vote in NOVEMBER? Do you feel like your vote even counts or will make a difference? What is your take on our current political climate? Did OBAMA's win make us get comfortable, give us a false sense of CHANGE? Yeah if you think i go hard about SEX you should hear me tonight!
