ENABLING ONESELF

Keeping in mind we are talking about ideals it is hardly surprising we truly labour over the thinking and skills. Each inititate is introduced through initiation to a world of expectations, Oh so gradually we begin our training while observing the surroundings. We quickly learn groupthink without knowing it is one of thousands. If all we see are shadows on the wall, those outlines are our reality. If nothing else, the Craft begins at the beginning, We face reality as it is, in a universe not of our own making. Fortunately the trail ahead has touchstones. Expectations change as societies change, raising our awareness of overarching values and laws that rule us all. We are not masters of all that is. We are participants in a world of constant change. We are told, all men are born equipped with reason. Why we chose to create consciousness of good triumphing over evil,  we reach a point of respect of the beliefs of all men searching and striving for a better life.  Has masonry been effected by secularism? Of course. We didn't walk away from questioning. Find the thread that captures your imagination,track it, explore as far as you need. You are the link with the divine that matters. The lynch pin that may not make sense to anyone else but doesn't have a need to impose one belief over others. Fortunately when we gather, we create a fusion of ideas. Is it really so difficult acknowledge the variations of others? Boys try to best their friends because that is what they are taught. But not all boys.
