THE OCCASION OF DISCOVERY

Once upon a time when the first cords were struck, we focused on it. Today a sea of hands shoot up, with cell phones at the ready, as if moments like that capture forever frisson.  It can't but that doesn't stop the practice. Do we help by mocking them?  Do we not think that doing what they must to prolong moments of such excitment and pleasure is justifiable?  Today we are in a liminal state adjusting and readjusting to a frank world view, complete with the emotional mindset of each creator. If we all witnessed a single event, we would have to gather all those opinions from eye witnesses, and try to bring them together to explain what actually happened. Knowing this influences reactions.  Why argue over differences of opinion, knowing opinions are all equal, some being more equal than others? That's like applying geometry to our thinking or finding that point within a circle. We shape our reality by the way we interpret our senses. That's the clarity of geometry. We are left to understand what we believe are answers to questions raised. The more influenced we are by 'masoninc' values and principles, the more we ought to see them reflected in our understanding. We strive not for uniformity but accuracy. Accuracy is greatly influenced by the way we apply our thinking to the task at hand. Listening, to others and to ourselves; watching others as well as ourselves; being unintrusive toward others and ourselves, critical thought but not criticizing, this unlocking potential is worth practicing when you we are ready.
