Accepted Free Masons. Until we are taught about this process, we may shy away from the true underlying ethics and principles that compile masonic beliefs. None more pressing that our respect for genius, the gravitation force that overwhelms all other forces. There is no "fear of the unknown" in a group of adventurers search for new knowledge. It is the unknown that feeds their souls, a journey of understanding. Of course we are humbled, overwhelmed. If we think about it timidly- it is a daunting exercise- until we step off the edge in a free fall of discovery, driven by a fear of failure. The difference between success, between a great man and a good man is the thinking behind the bigger man. There is no shortcut. Ego driven avarice doesn't work. Hubris is an abyss. It takes a brave heart to follow an instruction hundreds of years old, fearing we are not ready, having not completed our training, knowing we don't understand the meaning of the gentle craft, because humility is hard on the ego. Do we respect what art does for us? Are we fed on the discovery of science? Like any red-blooded, earnest apprentice on the slightest encouragement of his mentor, we strive until that day comes, when it all makes sense when the student becomes the master.Welcome to the mind of a mason.
