"The Niagara Movement: The Early Battle for Civil Rights" film delves into the national crusade that helped shape the civil rights landscape of the 20th century and today. Directed by Academy Award nominee Lawrence R. Hott, the documentary premieres on television on Monday, November 6 at 9:00pm ET on WNED PBS (for viewers in the Buffalo-Toronto area) and via streaming for all audiences on Buffalo Toronto Public Media’s YouTube Channel. The documentary explores the Black elite society in the early years of 20th century America and the heated national debate that arose between three Black leaders: sociologist W.E.B. Du Bois, publisher William Monroe Trotter, and educator-orator Booker T.
