GUEST: American Ninja Warrior Season 15 contestant Gary Weiland
Earlier this week, the whole world saw Texas firefighter Gary Weiland earn a final spot on the road to NBC's American Ninja Warrior’s Semi-finals. It was clearly the save of the night for Gary, who also made history as the first amputee to make it this far in the show's grueling and often impossible obstacle courses. In 2018, a part of Gary's left leg was amputated due to rare complications following a partial knee replacement. But that didn't stop Gary, who clearly has the heart of a champion. He returned to working as firefighter, and later took on the challenge of trying out for American Ninja Warrior. Gary had an incredible save in his qualifier run this week. He went head-to-head against contestant James Thorwart in a runoff race, that sent James to the water but secured the final spot in the Semi-Finals for Gary. Qualifying rounds continue June 19th from Los Angeles, on the world's most challenging obstacle course aka American Ninja Warrior on NBC. (photo and video courtesy of NBC/Universal).
