Penelope Hope Ainsworth is ten years old and became a young author at age eight. She was born in Wichita, KS. She was driven from El Dorado, KS to Wichita, KS the year she was accepted into the Book Boss program. Inspired by rescue pony Paisley out at her Grammy's Kritterhill Farm and Ranch, she based books around the Pony as a main character. Penny attended festivals, flea markets and farmer's markets all over Kansas for the first time last year. She met Joyce Benning from Benning Beef ranch at the Goddard, KS Farm Shop Farmer's market and was introduced to the Divas that care network and their books aimed at raising awareness for other influential women of all ages. Penelope currently has a rescue dog named "Jasmine" who is a rat terrier mix, just over a year old. She is working on the second book in her "The Adventures of Penelope and her Pony Paisley" series. She is a 5th grader in the Derby school district, has three younger siblings, many cousins and a few good friends. She enjoys yoga, bike riding, book reading, swimming, cooking, hiking, camping and traveling with family. She plans to attend college at Friends University to study conservation science and pursue a Bachelor of Science degree. She wants to protect animals and our ecosystem.
