Dr. Richard Barnett, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist in Akron, OH. He received his undergraduate degree in Applied Behavioral Science at George Williams College. He attended Kansas University and received his Masters’ degree in Clinical Social Work. He received his doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Kent State University in 1989 and has been practicing in Ohio since that time. Dr. Barnett has provided services in multiple settings and with various client populations. He has worked in the public school system, VA hospital, mental health center, nursing homes and in private practice. His current practice is primarily providing counseling to individuals who have been injured on the job and may not be able to return to work. The main issues are usually pain and depression. Dr. Barnett has been married for 29 years to his wife who is also a psychologist. They have two grown daughters and two dogs. (He is also Dave’s brother!)
