Brianna is the second graduate from the inaugural cohort of the Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies Program at Howard University. Her research focuses on intercollegiate athletics, particularly HBCU athletics, and gender and racial equity in sport, emphasizing Black womxn.
Brianna offers 10+ years of experience in post-secondary education. These experiences have prepared her to be an energetic leader who thrives on connection, collaboration, and authentic engagement with others. She is a firm believer in the concept "It takes a village." Her primary goal is to assist and advocate for students as they navigate their personal stories through policy and practice. She's worked in various functional areas within student affairs, such as new student orientation, academic advising, career services, residence life, and athletics.
Currently, she's a Graduate Research Associate (GRA) with the American Council on Education and assists in producing research to inform policy in equity-minded leadership, institutional transformation, and student success.
Brianna has a bachelor's in Family and Consumer Sciences from Virginia State University (VSU) and a master's in Counseling from Old Dominion University. She's an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and several other organizations. Recently, she became a life member of VSU's Varsity Club Alumni Association. She resides in MD with her fiancé, Dr. Michael R. Williams.
