Lawanda Pearson is the head softball coach and academic liaison for Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Athletics. Since 2003, she has served in multiple positions of responsibility including acting athletic director and senior woman administrator.
Before CAU, Pearson worked at Morris Brown College and held multiple positions within the athletics department including head softball coach.
Pearson was named the 2019 Strong Impact Coach of the Year by the Atlanta Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the 2015 SIAC Conference Coach of the Year, and 2009 recipient of CAU’s Aldridge McMillan Staff Achievement Award for Customer Service
Ms. Pearson is a graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy I and II, respectively. She has served as an administrator for the DII NCAA Leadership conference and a facilitator for the NCAA Division II Leadership Academy. She is also a graduate of the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minorities, the NACWAA/HERS program, and an active participant in multiple NCAA Diversity and Inclusion conferences.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Morris Brown College and Master of Sports Health Science degree from Life University.
