It was 721 yesterday and those who are listeners to this medium know what that means. It was a big celebration that means more than the end of July is fast approaching. It was Ivor's Birthday so we will bring the celebration right here. We will celebrate with Ivor but we will continue to  celebrate well into 24/7 and that's Barbra's Birthday. So celebrate we will all the way to 7/31. As you can see, despite Ivor, wonderful people were born in July as well. It may not have the impressive numbers but it did get some of the wonderful. It is also the birthday of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia between 1930 and 1974. He was born on July 23, 1892. He pleaded to the League of Nations in 1936 to seek assistance after the Italians invaded Ethiopia but his pleas fell on deaf ears. Three years later, the same fascist regime launched the destruction of Europe.  He pleaded to the United Nations in 1963 challenging that body to pursue the objectives of global peace through an to end the destitution created by White Supremacy. His words made famous by Robert Nesta Marley " Until the philosphy that holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned ... there will always be a War." Is our quest for peace different from the time Selassie spoke these words any different? Can we say that the source of human destitution is any different 60 years later?
