It's the heart of the summer and you know it because it is hot. But there is a lot of great opportunity for the outdoors. So the celebration does not stop. In fact, there is so much more to celebrate. It is birthdays, anniversaries and weddings as usual and then there are the graduations in abundance. And don't forget it's the start of the greatest summer festival on earth kicking off with the St. Kitts Music festival right here in the Caribbean and will be celebrated with passion and enthusiasm right here on The Saturday Morning Entertainment show brought to you by Caribbean Global Voices. A young law school graduate of the City University of New York, is causing a great deal of uproar. Fatima Mousa Mohammed, born in Yemen but raised in New York was chosn by her class to give the commencement speech on behalf of her graduating class. She characterized the law as an instrument of white supremacy and challenged her fellow graduates to undertake their profession in the various fields of law with the objective of changing that. She identified the police and military as fascist organizations commissioned to maintain oppression and human suffering at home and abroad. She specifically called out New York's Mayor Eric Adams and U.S. Senator for New York, Chuck Schumer for dignifying the murder of Jordan Neely by a white man on the New York subway. She condemned U.S. imperialism and denounced the activities of Israel against the Palestinian people. There has been a vicious response to her speech. She is receiving death threats; some say she should not be admitted to the bar and allowed to practice law.; others say the University should lose its accreditation. Why are people so angry?
