SDG 252: Let's Define "The Gospel"

1 Corinthians 15:1–4

If you were to asked to define the gospel, could you do it?
I ask this because today, even in our churches the term "Gospel" is tossed around carelessly. We use the term gospel music and you'll even hear people say, "And that's the gospel truth!" when what they say may be true, but it’s not necessarily the gospel truth. And preachers may even share incredible teachings of the LORD Jesus Christ, but that’s not the gospel, and neither is it when they preach a message on fire and brimstone as more ought to do. So if none of this is the Gospel, then just what IS the Gospel?
