Welcome Kate Genovese and Michael Embry to Speak out on the issues. Today's show will focus on a true story that Kate will share when her son Geno became addicted to percocet, heroin and other recreational drugs including pot. MIchael Embry is a reporter who focused many stories in his career on this topic and his book Darkness beyond the Light introduces us to Brody, the son of John and Sally Ross and what happens when they realize their son is addicted to drugs and how they manage to go about getting him some help. In Kate's story we learn how she and her husband Gary tried to get help for Geno and to have him placed in a rehab program and how the system FAILED HER and her son!
