On January 1, 2017, 151 years have passed since the 13th Amendment to the US constitution abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. With great irony; criminality if the social ill that has may people of Afro decent in bondage of some kind today. It begs the question “What does it means to be African American”? Conflicting ideas of its meaning has a subculture divided!
