Promise of Answered Prayer 1 John 3:19-24

If a professing Christian has the love of God in his heart, which comes from truly trusting in Christ and being "born again, " he will love God and love his brothers and sisters in Christ and seek to help them. Literally it says "this then is how we know." In, the phrase "and shall assure" is in the future tense which means our assurance is based on the condition laid down in Verse 18, that is if we do in fact love, Salvation is not based on a feeling. Truth is not based on authenticated by a burning in the bosom, as the some might say it! Truth is based on the only source of truth, God Himself and that truth that is revealed in the Bible,which is God's Word.
