Nia is best known for her Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee for best performance by an actress in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." Nia was also recognized for her writing for Best Original Screenplay. She also published her first book, "Instant Mom," on what is like to be a new mother after adopting a child. Now Nia can be seen making a guest appearance of NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" where she will play a denfense attorney.
