A Native New Yorker of Panamanian decent, Melissa De Sousa began her career at a very young age when she attended the High School of the Performing Arts where acting became natural for her. With the combination of Melissa's natural beauty and an innate acting ability, she was destined for stardom; but it was the role of "Shelby" in the 1999's critically acclaimed movie, "The Best Man," which De Sousa was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Film from the NAACP Image awards.
Her film credits include, Miss Congeniality, Constellation, A Good Man is Hard to Find, Lockdown and 30 Years to Life, which she also won for Best Independent Actress from the 2001 Black Reel Awards.
De Sousa's television credits include E.R., Married with Children, The Wayans Brothers and Living Single. And now she can be seen in BET's original show, "Reed Between The Lines" with costars Tracee Ellis Ross and Malcolm Jamal-Warner. Please join me, Tammy Jones-Gibbs on Wednesday, October 26 @ 1pm as I talk with the beautiful and talented Melissa De Sousa.
