Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light.

Last week we had on with us Donna Wood, from Florida Free Pat. Donna has been advocating for her fiance, who went into prison at the age of 17. She is back on with us, to speak more about Patrick's situation, as well as the concerns we all have when it comes to sentencing guidelines. No one should receive life/LWOP sentences, unless there is no chance at all, to be rehabilitated. 

Today, we are going to be discussing Community Issues, resulting in crime, harsh sentencing and Second Chances. Changes can be made to bring about hope for the incarcerated behind those Prison Walls, including our ability to work in unity to find  Alternatives to Incarceration, while also considering safety issues, challenging the Prosecutorial Integrity and ensuring fair trials and appropriate Indigent Defense. Lastly, we all need to fight for realistic and equitable Sentences in the U.S. Penal System. Anyone committing an Offense under the age of 25 years, and especially those, who have been incarcerated over 25 years, deserve to have another chance at freedom. No One Should Be Sentenced To One, Two, Three or more Life Sentences behind Bars.  It is unrealistic, inhumane and absurd.
