Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light. Our Weekly Wednesday Guests, are back to share their expertise in the areas of causes of crime, excessive sentences, damaging effects of Solitary Confinement, mass incarceration, Death Sentences of Death by Lethal Injections and LIFE/LWOP.  There is a serious need  for Parole and Prison Reform in the United States. The least Costly and Transparent Solution To Prison Reform and suicide preventions, would be to Replace Prisons with Long-Term Residential Treatment Facilities, with Professional and Experienced Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Substance Abuse Counselors, Medical Doctors, Nurses, Occupational and Physical Therapist, and Educational and Vocational Components to be included. Solitary Confinement, Restrictive Housing Units, Abuses, Deprivations and Other inhumane treatment which is what is mostly occurring in prisons across the Country, is not, will not, and never has been, the answer. Changes are long overdue and we will discuss why and how these resolutions can be fulfilled.
