Shane Crum has been incarcerated in Ohio since 1997, for an offense which never occurred. In the United States there are individuals convicted of serious and inflammatory crimes, based upon a single witness and without any corroborating physical evidence. Moreover, the allegation arose in the context of the parents ending their relationship and a battle over custody issues.
