Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light. Prisoners, have made their mistakes in life and most, who have been caught, are paying a high price for their wrongdoings. However, as I always try to relay to the public, prisoners should not be stereotyped, as the circumstance that led to their downfall as been different. We know the countries wealthier/wealthiest, in most cases, are able to cover up the wrongdoings of their loved ones. Yet, are quick to condemn, target, abuse, deprive and prevent other prisoners from ever being released. Even in most cases, trying to portray first-time offenders as being more violent than they actually are. Some prisoners have stumbled as a result of being used, lied to and deceived. Others who may have needed some emotional support as they came from fatherless homes or abusive homes. Some physically, sexually or emotionally abused. Some wrongfully convicted. Whatever the case, prisoners can change. We have on with us today, a Special Guest, Thomas Dormer, a 27 year old former prisoner, who is now attending School in California, with the goal of becoming a Professional Soccer Player. Thomas spent 4 years in Prison, from the age of 19 to 23 years. He is an avid animal lover and he owns four dogs. Thomas is on with us today to talk about the prison system as he knows it, and the experiences he encountered while being behind those cold and careless bars. Thomas is another example of why prisoners should be given second chances in life, regardless of their offense/s. Let's welcome Thomas Dormer.
