Good afternoon everyone. I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Prisoner Advocate and Host for Blog Talk Radio Shedding Light. As many of you know, we have been having ongoing open discussions about First-Time Offenders serving Life/LWOP sentences for an offense, committed prior to their 25th birthday and many who have thus far served 20, 25 or more years of that very harsh sentence.
Today, we will talk more on the issue of Mass Incarcerations, the pain that BOTH, families of victims and families of the fallen offender/s, must endure when a tragedy occurs. Also, to bring to awareness, that a tragedy is like lightening. It can strike anyone, anywhere and at any time. No one knows the fate of their children or any other member/s of a family, as is the case with many loved ones of the incarcerated who have fallen.
Today, we have on with us again, Christine Banks, a Special Guest, who has been advocating for the incarcerated lifers and who is going to continue with our last week’[s discussion of Life/LWOP Sentencing.
Let’s welcome Christine once again.
