Good Morning Everyone. I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Prisoner Advocate and Host for Blog Talk Radio Shedding Light. As many of you know, we have been having ongoing discussions about First-Time Offenders serving Life/LWOP sentences. Men and Women who committed their first and only offense prior to their 25th birthday and many who have served 20 years or more of their sentences thus far. We've spoken about the issues leading to the incarceration of many young people. We've had advocates on the Show who have talked about their own issues which led them to prison and how they now want to work with young people in the prevention of school to prison pipeline. However, today we have on with us a unique Guest who has incorporated a lot of her skills and talents into a wealth of resources for the young and older in need of assistance.
Volunteerism comes naturally to Jessaca Rowe. Starting out, as being an assistant manager for one non-profit organization and quickly recognizing her love for non-profit work. Jessaca holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a certificate in non-profit management. She has volunteered with non-profit organizations throughout southern California, assisting youth of all ages with computer skills, resume creation, college preparation and speaking presentations, and she has done virtual nonprofit work, from the State of California, clearly across the continent.
Aside from her volunteer work, Jessaca is a transformational speaker empowering aspiring entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into reality. She wrote and published a book in 2017 called "A New Level Mindset." She discusses her in depth journey of how she was able to rise out of fear into greatness. Let's welcome Jessaca Rowe.
