In this Episode we will be talking about Networking For Justice In An Unjust Country. We look at other countries in the way they incarcerate. According to the Washington Post, Half of the world's prison population of about nine million is held in the US, China or Russia. Prison rates in the US are the world's highest, at 724 people per 100,000. It is really sad that the Country once so well respected for being the only country named United States for the diversity and representation of people from every country in the world, now is considered by many to be the "Babylon of the World" due to its current growth of violence, harsh sentencing, national deception and corruption. We have a nation called United. Yet, every state in America has the same ongoing and growing problems, althought each state operates differently when it comes to the penal system. Many have suggested it be more appropriate to have all prisons in the U.S. be Federally operated verses State By State. We also have to ask why prisoners of first offenses in pastimes, never previously involved with the law and who committed an unfortunate fatality, were eventually released and never returned to prison. If that is the case in past times, why should it be impossible to do now. We would also like to be the voice for prisoners when it comes to exposing what really goes on inside of prisons where the media loses focus. Why is it the Media can obtain information from the prison authorities. Yet, they are not allowed to go into the prisons to speak with the incarcerated population, unless under special circumstances. Should the media in all fairness, not report news when it is involves an offender unless they have given the offender an opportunity to tell their side/s of the story. Yes, we have much to discuss and would like your feedback.
