Platinum Queens is honored to be interviewing filmaker,director & Producer Douglas Conrad. Here is a bit of information on Mr Conrad Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, film/video Producer, Director and Editor, Douglas Conrad successfully moved from a music video career to filmmaking. Starting off as a hip hop artist /music producer, Douglas consistently shot his music videos for hip hop and up and coming rappers. He also won several video awards for his work and continues to break new barriers every day. Douglas continued to work with Anthony Douglas for his directorial debut The Bud Spot, a comedy that was made with a small budget and grossed nearly ten times that amount it was made for. The next year he moved to television where he produced talk shows, commercials and various television programs, thus a short-lived UPN drama about a rookie undercover cop. His next feature where he worked as an associate producer with highly acclaimed director Marlon Ladd was the movie Recoil, an action drama about the life of Trey Briggs, a cop and die-hard ladies man who is having way too much fun. That is, until Angelo Thomas, a dangerous cold-blooded killer from his past shows up and goes after Trey's girlfriend for revenge., he moved on to bigger-budget films.. In 2009, Douglas’s projects included the Marlon Ladd action flick The Jones’ also U (Unaccepted) and the reenactment crime drama It Won't Come Off (2008), starring himself Douglas Conrad and Marlon Ladd. ~ Lyrical Transitions, a love poetry movie with actress Shaina Styles and heavy weight actors Cris Paul and Ricci Jett. "I'm single-minded," Douglas Conrad told The Source magazine. "When I'm working on a project all my attention is there."
