In the story of the Temptation of Jesus, we see how our Lord is the second Adam. The first Adam was tempted by the devil and he fell from perfection. The fall of Adam brought sin and death into this world. But our second Adam is victorious over the devil. Jesus wins the victory for us. Through Christ, we are able to overcome temptation. The evil one is defeated by the cross and resurrection of Christ.
