Paul is a former Executive Director of The Monroe Institute, in Faber Virginia, known for its pioneering work in the exploration of human consciousness. He became interested in consciousness exploration due to a mystical experience that unfolded during a construction accident in 1980. This profoundly life-changing event convinced him to enroll at Princeton Theological Seminary from which he graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1985.
During his 15 years of service as a Presbyterian pastor, he studied extensively in the fields of consciousness and spirituality, seeking to bring together traditional meditation techniques with contemporary expressions of spiritual exploration.
His first book, A Spiritual Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe: Travel Tips for the Spiritually Perplexed, was published in 2009. He is currently working on his second book: Time, Money, Dreaming and Enlightenment.
