Premise of "Ripped & Ready" now into it's 4th Season -- Growing up can be amongst the most challenging periods in our lives, however, as an African American man that challenge becomes even more complex when it is compounded with issues surrounding sexuality and self-acceptance. RIPPED & READY is the continuing story of four childhood friends who face numerous interpersonal struggles concerning their sexual identities. Marco Thompson, the hopeless romantic is comfortable in his own skin and searching for real love. D’Andre Washington, the hazel-eyed, self-proclaimed ladies man, toys around with Marco’s emotions throughout the story as he jumps in between the straight world and the gay world. Collin Clarke, wannabe thug and “gangbanger”, crosses over the line and dangles the “love” carrot in front of Marco’s face relentlessly. Both D’Andre and Collin’s desires for Marco are always on the sexual level, and not the mental and emotional one. The last character, Todd Berry, is the friend who returns to California after living in another state with his parents and siblings for a few years. Like Marco, Todd is comfortable with his sexuality, but his calls for military duty keep a budding relationship between he and Marco at arms reach. There is also an assortment of characters who interact with all four of these young men throughout the story line, whom range from parents, to siblings, to other dangerous individuals in the neighborhood, involved in the seedy and, sometimes, violent underground economy. RIPPED & READY is not just a “Gay” story, it is a story about the ups and downs of relationships across the board. You will be able to identify with one or more character in RIPPED & READY, because you might see yourself in one of them, or you may know someone with the same characteristics, but one thing for sure, the story will capture your heart and perhaps open your mind to the struggles of a lifestyle considered taboo by too many.
