Classical music composer Earnestine Rodgers Robinson discusses her memoir, Driven by Faith and her career as a classical music composer. With no formal training whatsoever in music, Earnestine persevered through countless obstacles including racism and poverty in the segregated South to become a successful classical music composer who has traveled and presented her music all over the world, including a world premiere at Carnegie Hall. Earnestine Rodgers Robinson is a renowned classical music composer. Robinson’s story is the subject of the 1995 PBS documentary “A Woman and Her Music.” “The Crucifixion” received its world premiere at Carnegie Hall in 1997. Her second oratorio, “The Nativity” also had its world premiere at Carnegie Hall in 2001. Robinson is the subject of the documentary “Sounds of a Miracle,” directed and produced by her eldest son Todd Robinson, MD, phD, which has been screened at the Palm Beach International Film Festival and Nashville Film Festival.
