Welcome to the Words On Flicks Show, movie talk from a fan perspective. This week, it’s all about William Shakespeare, The Bard of Stratford on Avon. Writer -- purportedly at least – of spme 37 plays , 154 sonnets, and three narrative poems. Shakespeare’s birthday was celebrated this week on April 23rd. Hewas born in 1564, which would make this his 455th birthday. Happy birthday, Will! He also died on the same day 54 years later.
So tonight I'll talk a little about Shakespeare and some of my favorite Shakespeare-themed screen adaptations, including Romeo & Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, Titus Andronicus, Othello, and RIchard III. Somehow that will take us to Broadway, Steven Spielberg, Puerto Rico, Nathan Lane and Denzel Washington!
We'll wrap up with a little chat about "Little," the amazing "Amazing Grace," and why wmen of a certain age are suddenly the boogeyman in a series of films. Stay tuned.
