This week, we want to shed light on the impact of selfish behavior, not only in sports but every relationship. In an article I was reading earlier, I found this, "The strength of any team rests in its’ group members’ willingness to surrender their individual goals and gain for the future success of the entire group. It’s only through this willingness to put your needs behind those of your team that great success is possible." As ones who desire to instill in our players and coaches a greater degree of awareness about character and integrity, it pains us to see teams suffer because of selfish desires. The Bible reveals in John 5:30, "I can do nothing on my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the one who sent me." How many athletes are seeking the will of true one that sent them?
